Shotcrete

Mortar or concrete pneumatically projected at high velocity onto a surface, shotcrete is typically used for applications in difficult-to-access or remote locations.

A major benefit of Nycon synthetic fibers in shotcrete is the reduction of rebound or material lost from the receiving face and the elimination of secondary reinforcing mesh. Some uses include artificial rockscapes, liners to tunnels, shafts, swimming pools and irrigation channels, retaining walls, repairs to deteriorated buildings, slope stabilization, marine and bridge structures, etc.

The following Nycon fibers are suitable for recommended for shotcrete applications:

Dry-mix:
NyconSF:  Either drawn-wire or slit-sheet steel, NyconSF fibers meet the requirements of ASTM A820 for use as secondary reinforcement and are an effective enhancement of flexural strength.

NyconB:  A combination of Nycon's steel and synthetic fibers wherein the synthetic fibers strengthen the bond between of the steel fibers in the mortar matrix to increase the effectiveness of the steel fibers.

NyconXL: High-dosage synthetic fibers for secondary reinforcement that enhance the structural integrity of concrete and shotcrete. They help reduce the potential of catastrophic failure and are ideal for impact and seismic-reistant applications.

ConTrol2000:  Nycon's premium nylon reinforcing fiber for use with traditional stucco, one-coat stucco, shotcrete applications, repair mortars, and pre-blended products.

ConTrol+:  An ideal reinforcement for architectural, ornamental, and colorized concrete applications.
