NyconSF Type I and Type II fibers are used as secondary/
temperature-shrinkage reinforcement in concrete and shotcrete.
Steel fiber dosages for concrete and shotcrete applications
can range from 20-120 pounds per cubic yard. Major applications
include industrial floor slabs, airport runways, taxiways,
aprons, shotcrete tunnel liners, and slope stabilization.
Engineering design support is available from Nycon. These
products meet the requirements of ASTM A820 Type I or Type
II specifications and
ASTM C-1116.
Design:
- Straight
- Continuous Deformed
Lengths:
- 13mm, 19mm, 25mm, 38mm, 50mm lengths
Dosage:
NyconSF dosages as secondary reinforcement-standard practice
for most applications:
20-40 lbs/yd3
|
Commercial slabs-on-ground |
40-85 lbs/yd3
|
Light to medium duty industrial and exterior
slabs-on-ground and elevated composite decks |
85 lbs/yd3
|
High-performance applications |
85-120 lbs/yd3
|
Special applications |
Value/Benefit in Concrete:
- Provides three-dimensional reinforcement
that reduces plastic and hardened concrete shrinkage.
- Depending on dosage level will increases
flexural strength of concrete and can reduce cross-section
of slab.
- Eliminates need for conventional secondary reinforcement.
- Enhances fatigue strength.
