Proven effective in countless concrete applications, NyconG fibers are made from 100% recycled nylon from reclaimed carpet. For years little has been done with carpet waste besides throwing it away. Today, thanks to an advanced patented technology (U.S. Patent #6,971,784, other US and foreign patents pending), Nycon “harvests” carpet waste, much like an agricultural asset. Carpet once taken to landfills is now a resource for producing our proprietary, high-value concrete reinforcing fibers. And more than just conserving landfill space, recycling carpet saves water and reduces carbon dioxide emissions that contribute to global warming.

NyconG Physical Properties

Designed specifically for concrete reinforcement, NyconG is a well-graded blend of nylon fibers (.75" to micro length) and a carefully controlled percentage of calcium carbonate particles made from 100% reclaimed carpet. Both the nylon fiber and backing from post-consumer and post-industrial carpet serve to produce NyconG's high-performance concrete reinforcement. The blend also includes 10% by weight of limestone (CACO3). Fiber color is generally a light tan and will not affect performance or the aesthetics of finished concrete. Production and packaging standards of NyconG fibers adhere to strict quality control measures, including random testing to insure minimal environmental impact.
