The New Nycon Story
New Nycon, Inc.
New Nycon, Inc., has pioneered the use of fibers for secondary concrete reinforcement. A value-added supplier to the industry, New Nycon has the broadest portfolio of reinforcing fibers, which currently include "Green", nylon, polypropylene, AR glass, steel, macro, high-dosage synthetic fibers, PVA and steel/synthetic blends. All our reinforcing fibers are available in handy "toss-in" water soluble bags.
Background
In the early 1980's, Nycon, Inc., developed synthetic fibers that would out-perform all other fibers in prolonging the service life of concrete. Nycon ultimately developed a three-dimensional, multi-filament nylon fiber specifically designed for reinforcing concrete and cement-based products. Field testing of the engineered Nycon fibers revealed: - Their use eliminated the need for wire mesh as secondary reinforcement.
- They were easier to use and place.
- They were stronger than polypropylene and did not float to the surface.
- They outperformed all synthetic fibers in high-performance concrete construction.
Since 1999 Nycon has expanded its offerings, which now include the full spectrum of green, synthetic and steel reinforcing fibers.
Today, there are billions of square feet of Nycon-modified concrete in-place worldwide. Nycon fibers are increasing the durability and service life of concrete, and the company's support services are enabling building professionals to work effectively and competitively.
With headquarters in Westerly, Rhode Island, New Nycon, Inc., markets its products worldwide. Its sales and distribution network includes 35 domestic and 20 international sales representatives. New Nycon's US distribution centers are located in California, Florida and Connecticut.
