Precast
concrete is cast elsewhere than its final placement. Many different
sizes and shapes of precast units utilize fibers for increased
reliability and post-failure toughness.
Over the years, precasters have developed innovative applications that perform
better at lower costs. The myriad shapes, weights, and finishes
that are possible with precast, along with their flexibility
and affordability, make them attractive for barriers, tanks,
vaults, retaining walls and panels, architectural and ornamental
shapes.
The following Nycon fibers are suitable for precast concrete
applications:
NyconSF:
Either drawn-wire or slit-sheet steel, NyconSF fibers meet
the requirements of ASTM A820 for use as secondary reinforcement
and are an effective enhancement of flexural strength.
NyconB:
A combination of Nycon's steel and synthetic fibers wherein
the synthetic fibers strengthen the bond between of the steel
fibers in the mortar matrix to increase the effectiveness
of the steel fibers.
NyconXL:
High-dosage synthetic fibers for secondary reinforcement that
enhance the structural integrity of concrete and shotcrete.
They help reduce the potential of catastrophic failure and
are ideal for impact and seismic-reistant applications.
ConTrolPCF:
Polypropylene fibrillated fibers engineered for quality secondary
reinforcement in all precast applications.
ConTrolPCM:
A polypropylene monofilament fiber for secondary reinforcement
that controls shrinkage-cracking in precast products.
ConTrolPC+:
Nycon's best secondary reinforcing fiber solution to satisfy
the demanding needs of the precast manufacturer.
AR
Glass Fibers: Nycon AR (alkali-resistant) glass fibers
enhance the lifespan and serviceability of concrete flatwork,
precast products, architectural/decorative surfaces, and ornamental
cementitious products.
