Prestressed/Post-Tension Concrete

 

Concrete in which internal stress of a given magnitude and distribution is introduced so that the resulting tensile stress from the service load is counteracted to a desired degree. In reinforced concrete, the prestress is commonly introduced by tensioning the tendons.

These products require reduced permeability and long-term durability. Nycon’s synthetic fibers help distribute internal stresses and reduce macro cracking. Parking decks, elevated hotel floors and bridge decks are all prestressed candidates for Nycon synthetic fiber reinforcement.

The following Nycon fibers are suitable for prestressed/post-tension concrete applications:

NyconSF:  Either drawn-wire or slit-sheet steel, NyconSF fibers meet the requirements of ASTM A820 for use as secondary reinforcement and are an effective enhancement of flexural strength.

NyconB:  A combination of Nycon's steel and synthetic fibers wherein the synthetic fibers strengthen the bond between of the steel fibers in the mortar matrix to increase the effectiveness of the steel fibers.

NyconXL: High-dosage synthetic fibers for secondary reinforcement that enhance the structural integrity of concrete and shotcrete. They help reduce the potential of catastrophic failure and are ideal for impact and seismic-reistant applications.

ConTrolPCF:  Polypropylene fibrillated fibers engineered for quality secondary reinforcement in all precast applications.

ConTrolPCM:  A polypropylene monofilament fiber for secondary reinforcement that controls shrinkage-cracking in precast products.

ConTrolPC+:  Nycon's best secondary reinforcing fiber solution to satisfy the demanding needs of the precast manufacturer.

NyconRC:  Nycon's top-of-the-line, nylon fiber for excellent secondary reinforcement in concrete applications. Because of the exceptional bond between matrix and fiber, they yield the best results for concrete durability and have the highest UL fire-resistance rating of all synthetic fibers.
