Hot-Mix Asphalt

Hot-mix asphalt (HMA), particularly open-graded friction course (OGF) and stone-matrix asphalt (SMA) has a requirement for natural or synthetic fibers. Nycon fibers offer improvement to control drain-down and can provide improved stability and crack control.

The following Nycon fibers are suitable for hot-mix asphalt applications:

NyconG: Nycon's 100% recycled "Green" fiber solution for HMA that provides excellent secondary reinforcement and controls cracking.

MultiMesh: An economical nylon fiber solution for HMA that provides excellent secondary reinforcing results for plastic-shrinkage crack control and increased impact resistance.

NyconE: An economical and beneficial E-glass fiber for HMA that is very sturdy in the solidification process. Maintains mixture integrity, resists cracking, and controls drain down.

NyconC: Nycon's Cellulosic fiber utilizes a natural energy source, cellulose. Stabilizes asphalt film surrounding aggregate particles, reduces asphalt drain-down, and increases porosity to allow water permeability.
