KURALON RECS7 PVA Fibers for Fine Materials and Crack Control
KURALON RECS7 PVA fibers are designed as reinforcement for grout and mortar applications. They are specified where structural reinforcement is desired with fine aggregates and thin
applications of 3/8" or less. The unmatched molecular bond strength of PVA fibers with
portland cement makes KURALON RECS7 suitable for crack-control reinforcement. This high bond strength eliminates the need for longer fibers, making mixing easier, with less impact on
slump.

Dosage
KURALON RECS7 offers both plastic and drying shrinkage crack control for composites. A dosage level of approximately 2.5 pounds of KURALON RECS7 per cubic yard of mix is recommended for crack control. Depending on design requirements, structural applications can use up to 44 lbs of fiber per cubic yard of mix.
Benefits of KURALON RECS7 Fibers in Composites:
- Crack reduction in grouts and mortars
- In higher dosages, provides flexural and tensile strain-hardening much higher than other
conventional synthetic fiber systems
Applications
- Concrete countertops
- Whitetoppings
- Thin-section specialty precast shapes
